Week in review

Wow. This week was full of accomplishments and disappointments in my life, so a weekly review of lessons learned is going to be quite easy. So let's dig in.

On the physical front, I've relearned that I need to kick the soda habit altogether (again) to aid in the weight loss. Even though they are labeled as "diet," diet sodas don't help me lose weight. It's easier for me to kick them to the curb completely versus trying to satisfy my craving. So this weekend is my time to start the tapering off to prevent a caffeine withdrawal headache. (An unfortunate side-effect of my favorite soda being Mountain Dew and its diet equivalent.)

I also saw the need to revitalize my workout plan. The scales don't lie and the weight I've put back on this year is proving that I need to go back to the focus I had last year when I dropped 50 pounds. I am at serious risk of jeopardizing this year's weight loss goal unless I turn things around NOW.

Mentally, I continued my read of Jeffrey Gitomer's Little Gold Book of YES!Attitude and am finding ways to take my attitude to the next level. How we perceive our day-to-day lives is controlled by out mental attitude, so it's important to work on it every day.

As I embarked on this journey of daily blogging, I also learned the importance of preparation. The task has turned out to be a bit more than I expected, so I am going to kick up the prep work instead of abandoning the change. All change requires hard work, right?
